Along the Portuguese west coast with friends!

Hi guys! 😊

For those who don't know us, we are from Portugal, a gorgeous country to visit with a lot to explore: 800 km of beaches, little villages in the middle of nowhere, mountains with snow, historical cities and National Parks. In fact, Portugal is home to a truly epic beach scenery with soft golden sun, long summers and plenty of sunshine all year round!

Last Summer, Rita and I, together with some friends, decided to do something we have been wishing for a long time: a road trip along the Southwestern coast of Portugal. 🚗🌅But, instead of staying in 5-star hotels, we took our tents and slept under an entire constellation. 😂😎

I started this trip a few days before Rita and her friends joined us. I was travelling from Ilha do Pessegueiro to Aljezur, where I met them afterwards. Later on that day, we went to Sagres, known for the Cape of Sagres, which is the southwestermost point of Europe! We found it very peculiar, because the sea at the south coast of the cape is really calm, with almost no waves, but if you go to the west side of it, you can see the brave ocean, perfect for surfing.🏄

Unfortunately, we don't know how to surf... 😂 Instead, we spent the day at Praia do Amado and Praia do Beliche, some kilometres away from the cape, playing some card games and diving into the Atlantic ocean.

For us, the perfect way to finish the day was, of course, watching the sun go down into the sea! So we returned to the Cape of Sagres, which was crowded with tourists and sunset-lovers, and just waited for it. It was so cool because when the sun completely disappeared, there was a profound standing ovation. Just look at the pictures! For us, they show the environment and the peace we were living at that moment.

We had dinner at a fish and seafood restaurant (Adega dos Arcos), recommended by our friend Pedro, and the food was sooooo good! The fish is caught locally so the taste was really fresh! Afterwards, we looked for a place where we could lay our tents and stay the night, which ended up to be somewhere in a forest close to the beach. We wish there were more days like this one!
